Since we last wrote, a lot has happened! We packed all we own into a small storage space. We (with lots of help!) cleaned out our home, and sold it. We said many sad good byes. We packed what was left into a couple of suitcases and crates. We flew to the other side of the planet. We spent a wonderful week in LA, reconnecting with friends, mentors, and the traffic on the I-5. We drove to Arizona and moved in with the Yates family. We started school again. For the kids, and for the grown-ups: we finally started our training! So much has happened and so much is happening… It is tempting to lose focus. But we are called to keep our eyes on the ball!
Our aim in this big adventure is clear – bringing the good news of our Saviour to a people group who are lost without it. So we are working hard to keep our goal in mind while we are in this preparation phase.
2 Tim 2:15: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
We also live with another primary goal in mind – bringing glory to God in all we do.
1 Cor 10:31 “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
You can pray for us as we strive to live holy lives. Pray that we will grow in our love for God and his Word. Pray that our marriage would be strengthened, that we would love our children and lead them to a saving understanding of the gospel. Pray for clarity of mind as we do our training. Pray for the church family that we left behind and for the one that is embracing us now. Pray for our team mates. Pray for the precious soles in Maweroro, that God would prepare their hearts… And pray that we will keep our eyes on the ball.
