We cherish any opportunity to spend time with our supporting churches. It is always such a joy to get to know our rope-holders.  Add to that the chance to be encouraged by other speakers, and have some family time at the beach, and you end up with a pretty perfect weekend!

Hillcrest Baptist Church invited us to be part of their Missions Conference last weekend. Ryan was given an opportunity to speak on ‘Answering the Call to Missions’, and Amelia was asked to speak at the Kids Conference, explaining why she is preparing to go to PNG. Each session at the main conference was excellent. Our resolve to go to unreached people groups was strengthened. Great catering ensured that our bodies were strengthened too. The team organising the Kids Conference did not merely arrange child care – our children were encouraged to share the Good News with their friends, and given tools to do so. They even had to visit all the missionaries’ booths to gather information – so they were able to interact with other missionaries and their support teams.

We decided to go down a few days early. This allowed us to visit an aquarium, and even get wet (some of us are slightly crazier than others!).

We still covet your prayers. Pray that our work permits (and then Visa’s) will be processed soon. Also pray that we will be wise in how we spend our waiting time in South Africa. Pray also for our team mates, the Canns as they forge ahead in Mawerero.
